So I re-read Ilona Andrew's 3rd installment in her Kate Daniels series "Magic Strikes" over the weekend and have to say the 2nd time around was even better than the first. I didn't think a re-read would top out the last 4 new books I read, but well it did! I follow her blog and adore her sharing a day in the life and her hubby's tidbits are priceless. His written tidbits, not his actual bits!  I've never met either of them but if they ever make it to the East Coast for a book signing I would seriously consider saving up some trip money and going to see them to get the books signed.

I miss Supernatural! I can't wait for the 2nd season of True Blood and I will be buying the 1st season of Sookie soon!

Elaine's Crafty Corner

Why? Because so many of my favorite quilting/artistic blogs are through there and it just seemed easier to follow them all if I joined. So I am mainly focusing on my artistic and crafty side through blogger and will use Livejournal to talk about tv, books and anything entertainment oriented... well maybe not talk about so much as leave rushed comments that have been in my head for weeks. Yes I am a procrastinator!

<input ... ></input><input ... >I decided to make a colorful scrappy star quilt for my brother based on Fig & Plum Co. Quilt Pattern "Jelly Stars". I decided to use a mix of my own fabrics rather than buy a Moda jelly roll. I now have a Moda All Spice jelly roll I found at a local quilt shop and want to try another of Fig & Plum's jelly roll quilt patterns. Since this one was so easy to follow and enjoyable to make.

    

I used a mix of stenciled designs and meandering throughout the quilt. I used my Brother sewing machine to quilt it all.

This particular quilt is currently still in blocks, unfinished because it was too busy in my opinion when viewed from a doorway on a bed in normal size bedroom... I am hoping to figure out a way to make it less overwhelming. In the meantime I have put it away and finished my brothers birthday quilt. (May 22nd was his birthday!)
